Trained as an Engineer. Still Think Like One.
ENGINEER
I started as an engineer dreaming of something bigger. I was trained to solve problems most people can't even see yet. That background gave me something most designers don't have: the ability to architect systems that actually scale, anticipate what breaks before it does, and turn ambitious ideas into concrete reality. Engineers don't guess. We build frameworks that hold up under real-world pressure.
But I also craved freedom. I wanted creative control, the ability to build something entirely mine, and honestly, a life on my own terms. That pull toward entrepreneurship is what changed everything.
Built a Business Where My Site Had to Convert.
FOUNDER
So I launched a consumer food brand with zero outside funding. Talk about trial by fire... when people are putting your product inside their bodies, trust isn't optional. And when slow sales mean literal expired inventory and wasted money, you learn to convert or die.
I had to master everything overnight: formulation, compliance, pricing, packaging, marketing, buyer psychology, design, copywriting, operations, supply chain. The whole chaotic, unglamorous mess of it. It was a crash course more intense than any MBA and absolutely nothing like the glossy founder stories people tell. It was hard, humbling, and wildly educational.
What I learned (aside from the fact that running a food brand is a literal nightmare) is that most "professional" websites are shockingly bad at their one job: selling. They're template-pretty but psychology-ignorant. They look nice but convert like hot garbage. As an engineer, that drove me insane. So I taught myself how to build sites that blend beautiful design with behavioral science and strategic messaging—the kind that actually move people to buy.
Plot twist: I realized I loved building the brands and websites way more than supply chains and the day-to-day operations of CPG. So I pivoted.
